The indiscipline in schools

The indiscipline in schools

Ferreira, Helena

Education is in crisis. And that crisis is caused by several factors that make clear the failure, evasion, inappropriate behavior, the school failure. "

Anyone linked to the contemporary school practices, either as an educator, is educating as, or more general public (parents, community), can have a reasonable clarity about what we are accustomed to recognize as a "crisis of education".

Agree, is not that strange and contradictory, depending on the item (the economic or political), Brazilians appreciate being compared to Europeans or Asians, and the educational aspect, we are forced to allocate at the same level of countries of Africa punished? Scores of high school dropout and retention of students show that the situation in Brazil is not very different from the Sudan and Nigeria.

With data as the very alarming social image of the school undertakes, but also the teachers who have affected its credibility.

Well, when someone proposes to investigate the reasons for the failure to round us all, has appeared lately, among the many reasons adduced by educators (since those linked to the Government to those of a social nature), a figure much controversy: the "student-problem".

The student-made problem is, in general, as one who suffers from some supposed "psychological disturbances / teaching", these disorders that can be cognitive in nature (such the "disorders of learning") or behavioral in nature, and in the latter category falls within a wide range of actions that usually call for "indiscipline". Thus, the indiscipline and low utilization of the students were like two sides of the same coin, representing the two great evils of contemporary school, leading to school failure, and the two main obstacles to teaching.

We have some assumptions that underpin such arguments:

A CASE EXPLANATORY: The student "failure": one that says the student of today is less respectful.

A CASE EXPLANATORY: The STUDENT "WITHOUT LIMITS" is the responsibility of parents, who can not control their children.

A CASE EXPLANATORY: The STUDENT "disinterested": the classroom is not attractive because the student has other media more attractive.

These three assumptions explanatory make a mistake, because of departure, which is to take the discipline as a prerequisite for the pedagogical action, when in fact, school discipline is one of the products or effects of the daily work of the classroom . And we all know it somehow, for more than avoid the weight of that finding.

The student can not be labeled by means of assumptions and vocational education is responsible for the attraction and participation of their students, seeking external assistance to duly psychological or neurological in character. The other causes should be addressed within the classroom, and enter your student in the learning process and interaction.
